The SSI comprises four levels:
- 24 indicators
- 8 categories
- 3 wellbeing dimensions
- 1 Overall index SSI
The first two editions of the SSI, in 2006 and 2008, were based on a framework of 22 indicators. In the process of preparing the 2010 update we have thoroughly evaluated the structure of the SSI. (See Evaluation and redesign of the SSI). This resulted in a new framework, even more balanced and transparent than the previous one.
